Introduction
Welcome to our new format for our online Study Guides. Thank you for all of your feedback that has lead us to move to what we hope is a more user friendly, robust new system that will eventually let us add video (like the music video you will find here for Energy Star) and exiting new features that we hope will further enhance your experience with HTY. Any feedback you would like to share about the study guide, show or your entire HTY experience is extremely beneficial to us as we aim to be great partners to your important work. Shocka is the third part of a series that we have created around issues central to who we are in Hawaii. After Grinds (food), H20 (water), the idea of energy seemed to follow naturally. We understand that every island has their own unique needs and resources when it comes to energy and we hope that this guide will provide a starting point to how you can connect your island’s energy future to this production as there is much to discuss and understand if we are going to work together to reach our ambitious goal of 100% renewable energy by 2045. We especially hope you enjoy some of the links to our partners web sites containing information from everything from nutrition and energy to practical things you can do at school and home to save energy.
Synopsis
SHOCKA, AN ORIGINAL ADVENTURE In Shocka, students will meet a delegation from the future, 28 years in the future to be exact! This diverse group of characters has returned to 2018 with a special message for their past selves and community. In 2044 Hawaii is very close to making their goal of 100% renewable energy by 2045 but they aren’t quite there. The team needs the help of your class to reduce energy consumption, use energy more efficiently and develop new energy technologies.
