Synopsis
Geppetto is a great puppet maker. He carves a boy puppet who magically comes to life and names him Pinocchio. Pinocchio runs away from Geppetto and encounters a great puppet theatre where marionettes dance on strings controlled by their great master, Fire Eater. Pinocchio is tricked by a sneaky fox and cat who plot to steal his gold coins, a gift from Geppetto. Pinocchio runs away to Funland where he eats too many sweets and nearly escapes being turned into donkey. Pinocchio is happily reunited with his father in the belly of a whale. Pinocchio rescues his father and becomes a real boy, not a puppet any longer. The Adventures of Pinocchio is a brand new musical with fantastical songs and lots of dancing. The ensemble brings this exciting story to life by playing many characters and puppets.
Introduction
HTY ends our season with a new take on a timeless classic. This story about a mischievous puppet and his father Geppetto holds powerful lessons about truth and lies, genuine friendship and the power of love to give us life. Re-imagined with a radiant new design and original music, the production encourages a new generation to enjoy the most read children’s book in the world.
