STATEWIDE TOUR
Each year, HTY tours at least four plays to schools and theatres statewide, to Kaua`i, Lana`i, Moloka`i, Maui, and Hawai`i. Each is geared to a different age level - plays run just under an hour, except for the pre-school shows, which are shorter.
HTY mails a Teacher Guide to representatives in every Hawai`i school in late spring every year. This guide describes each play and program in our coming season. Call 808-839-9885 or 866-234-3956 (toll free) today to receive a 2007-2008 Teacher Guide, reservation forms and discount cards. Guides and reservation forms will be available online soon.
Note: the Fall tour on Maui is organized by the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Maui K - 6 teachers should call MACC to make their reservations.
HTY's drama education department creates a Second Stage Education Guide for each play. Second Stage contains activities and suggested readings to help students prepare for seeing each production, as well to deepen the experience within the classroom by connecting the plays with the curriculum. Second Stage Education Guides can be downloaded from our Education Resources page soon.
If you are interested in having your students see one of these plays, please contact Charlotte Lee as soon as possible for reservations. Call toll free from the Neighbor Islands 866-234-3956 or EMail Charlotte at tours@htyweb.org.
